About Me

I received the Ph.D. degree from Southeast University, China, in 1996. Since 2002, I have been a Professor with Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), where I have been a Distinguished Professor since 2008. I was the Vice-President of Shanghai University from 2018 to 2023. I am currently the President of Shanghai Institute of Technology.

Research

My current research interests include analysis and control of complex dynamical networks. I am also a Board Member of the Network Science Society (NetSci) and the Vice-Chair of the IFAC Coordinating Committee CC5 and the Systems Engineering Society of China. I received the 2002 National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars of China; the 2005 Guillemin-Cauer Best Transactions Paper Award from the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society; the 2008 Distinguished Professor of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program, Ministry of Education; and the 2015 Second Class Prize of the State Natural Science Award, China.
